If
you are taking medications, check with your doctor
or pharmacy for any possible adverse reactions.
Never
spend significant time in the sun on the same day
you use a tanning bed and do not exceed the recommended
exposure time per day. Over-Exposure is the enemy
that can lead to wrinkling and possible skin cancer.
Always
wear the FDA approved goggles, provided in the tanning
units, to protect your eyes. Closed lids can not
block the UV rays. Also, protect your lips with a
SPF lip balm.
Protect
sensitive parts of your body that have not been exposed
to sunlight such as buttocks and breasts. These areas
should be covered half of the time for the first
several tanning sessions.
Drink
plenty of fluids before and after tanning, to replenish
skin moisture content and to keep from dehydrating.
If
your skin looks red, feels tight or tingly, rest
it for a day and reduce the tan time on your next
visit. Use good common sense.
Tanning
lotions will help you achieve and maintain the tan you're
after. Feel free to ask which one is right for you.
Only indoor tanning products
may be used in the tanning units!
Clean
skin tans more quickly and evenly. The use of a good
shower gel (not soap) and a water based body lotion
after bathing/showering, will help keep your tan longer,
while keeping skin soft and young looking.
Some make-ups increase sensitivity
and jewelry will leave light spots. So, you may want
to remove both. You may want to remove contact lenses
as well.
